The Danish Operations Research Society (DORS) is lead by a board of at most 8 members. The board consists of 1 president, 1 secretary, 1 treasurer, while the rest are board members. The mission  of DORS is to foster operations research in Denmark, both in academic and professional environments.  In order to do so, DORS organises an annual network meeting, the annual Application Of Optimization (AOO) conference, offers the DORS Price for best thesis in operations research, organises company visits, arranges OR Days for students, and finally published a bi-annual magazine ORbit with contributions from our members.

 

The DORS board is also active internationally. It participates to the council meetings of the Association of European Research Societies (EURO). It is during those meetings that the general direction of EURO is decided, which includes the management of the EURO scientific journals and conferences. Moreover, DORS is also part of the International Federation of Operations Research Societies (IFORS). DORS also has a close collaboration with the Swedish Operations Research Association (SOAF) and the Norwegian Operations Research Society (NORS), with which we share ORbit submissions and collaborations on e.g. conference organisations and Ph.D schools.
